Julian’s Voice: A Ruby in the Rough

Jewels decided to write. She found her sheet music, where she had left it, under her pillow on her bed. She read the song she had started composing before her trip to Hawaii. It now seemed so juvenile and superficial to her. Ripping it up, she threw it into her trashcan, of course she missed the can, leaving the crumpled up paper on the ground. She instantly sensed her mother’s presence again.

“Oh Mama. Why did you have to leave me here all alone and without you?”
