Excerpt from Manuscript – Dear Paxton
Lisa’s body weakened, as Cole released his grip from around her wrists. Tears streamed down her face now. She had nothing else to say to him, watching him as he shut the front door behind him, leaving her alone to silently die inside her soul, heart, and mind.
She didn’t know how long she had been sitting on the living room floor, staring out the window, except she knew it must have been at least an hour.
As her mother entered into their home after work, she had almost fainted from sheet horror. Lisa’s fragile body was lying on the carpet in the middle of their living room, surrounded by her own blood, pouring out of her tiny, pale wrists.
