She was so excited to see his precious face that she could hardly stand to sit in the truck for another moment.  Quickly, she rolled down her window to get some fresh air when she saw him standing outside waiting.  He was standing next to a white wooded garage, kicking gravel while biting down on his lower lip.  He looked preoccupied and incredibly sexy, standing there, wearing a heavy army jacket smoking a cigarette.  His hair was quite a bit longer than the last time she had seen him, but he looked the same, only better.  His face was relaxed and unshaven.  He looked so innocent and vulnerable, but she knew him better than that.  Her feelings where mixed.  He had loved her so much, but had hurt her so deeply at the same time.  They had only known each other for two years, but she had experienced so much pain with this man.  Her heart was still mending, but now that she saw him, all the love she had pushed aside came rushing back with full force.

Tom had barely turned into the gravel driveway before Lisa was out of the truck flying into Cole’s arms.  Oh, the strength in those arms was incredible.  All the memories came rushing back.  Their lips met, melting her heart.  He kissed her with full force.

He had also pushed back his feelings for her.  He had missed her deeply, but he was good at pushing aside his emotions out-of-the-way when they became bothersome.  Seeing her now brought all the emotions he had forgotten, flooding back into reality and into his opened heart.

Tears sprang to his eyes spilling out onto his checks.  Her face was wet with tears too, kissing away all the pain they both had felt.  “Oh Lisa, I have missed you so much.  Thank you for coming to see me.”

Donating Women’s Business Suits to Charities

A Helping Hand, Charities, Children, Donations, Half-way Houses, Missions, Shelters, Welfare, Women

Ask Ms Mandi is asking for your support in donating women business suits to women in need.  So many times single women get stuck in the rut of struggling without the opportunity to find a good job to support herself and her children.  Let’s face it, welfare is not going to provide a stable income for a single mother to properly care for her children.  She will need a place to live, food, clothing and a vehicle.  It is near impossible to get around without a vehicle these days, especially in Southern California.  We need a car to get to the grocery store, take our kids to school, and especially to get to work. Sometimes work is over 30 miles away.

What is a single mother to do when she is barely making it on welfare.  We all know that welfare helps, but it just isn’t enough to get a single mother with children out of a bad situation.  Everyone, at times, needs a helping hand, a push to get over the rough times.

In today’s poor economic times, it is hard to find a job, especially if you are not educated or properly skilled in the workforce.  Study’s say that first impressions are important.  It is hard enough to get that interview, but even harder to get the job.  We must look our best when attending the interview, to guarantee our success to landing the job, that will get us over the hump and back into being a successful, working citizen, off of welfare.

Nobody wants to be a statistic. Did you know that the poorest economic group are single mothers.  Why is that, you may ask?  A primary reason for this statistic is that women get married and raise the children, while the husband obtains the career and makes the money for the family.  Things go astray and love fades, ending in divorce, while leaving the women to take care of the children with no education and no income.  She may not even get child support, if you married a dead-beat dad, who just doesn’t care about her or his children’s needs.  She may get a minimum wage job, but her children are too young and need to go to daycare.  She will spend most of her income on daycare services with little or no money left over for her and the children to survive on.  It’s a sad story, but too true.

Ask Ms Mandi is asking for your help and support.  The first impression and most important matter is how we look when interviewing for a job prospective.  Ask Ms Mandi is asking for donated women business attire clothing.  I will be donating these items to shelters, churches, and half-way houses to help single mothers to re-gain the confidence to walk into an interview with pride and a strong self-esteem.  This will help her to be the best that she can be for herself and her children, getting her off of welfare.

Ask Ms Mandi’s goal for the rest of the year, is to donate as many women business attire suits, dresses, outfits to the needy to help these women regain their lives back.  A lot of these women were once women just like you and I; however, they have fallen on hard times, losing their husbands, their homes, their dignity, their self-respect, and their freedom to live the life that they and their children deserve.  Ask Ms Mandi will be donating women business attire too and asks you to contribute to this great cause.

If you want to help, please contact me by e-mail and I will give you the address to send your donations to.  Don’t forget, donations are a tax-deductible as well, so you will be benefiting women in your society and getting a tax break too.

Thank you for your support!

Lisa was walking towards the light and the voices coming from her grandmothers.  She was leaving behind the pain and suffering that life and love had crushed upon her.  She remembered how much her grandmothers had loved her and her sister.  Their love for her was easy and pure.  She wanted to be with them now.  Loving Cole had been too hard, she had tried so hard to make it work, but now she was tired.  Her body, mind, and soul were too exhausted to love him completely anymore.

She was almost to the light when she heard a soft crying.  It tore at her heart to realize the crying was from Paxton.  Paxton had entered the room, sitting next to her father with Mimi and Ricky standing next to her.  They had all come to see Lisa and say their goodbyes.

“Mama, please don’t die!  Don’t leave me here all alone.  I need you.  There are so many things I haven’t told you.  You are the best mom I could have asked for.  I want to thank you for always being so selfless and how much I truly appreciate the sacrifices you have made for our family; especially the ones you have made for me.  You are too hard on yourself because you and I both know that you are doing your best and it IS enough!  If you leave me, then I won’t have you there to help me with my homework, ironing my shirts, sewing my clothes, cleaning my Vans, making me French Toast every morning, painting my toenails, giving me a massage, and cracking my back.  You are the most beautiful mama in the world and I can not live without you!”  The whole room was in anguish.  Lisa felt a hard tug at her heart.

REMEMBERING 911

Freedom, New York, September 11, Terrorism, Twin Towers

September 11, 2001.  I remember the day as if it were yesterday.  I remember walking into my house around 8:30 am, turning on the television, and watching in horror as the second airplane crashed into the Twin Towers.  The thing that struck me most odd that morning was watching the individual white sheets of paper flutter around the streets of New York, thousands and thousands of paper.  Who had touched them, who had just recently stored them into the filing system, who was missing them?  It was an eerie thought to wonder about these thousands of sheets of papers coming from the Twin Towers.  I do not know why this particular image has stayed in my mind for all these years, but it has.  Perhaps my mind needed to fixate onto something less horrific as watching a city fall apart to an awful bout of terrorism.  The images we endured that day will forever be stuck in our minds.

September 11th is a very special and memorable day to my family and I because we named our second daughter after a Naval Contractor who had died on September 11th in the Pentagon.  We named her Julian Cooper.  She reminds us every year on 911 of the loss we as individuals, families, and as a nation, had to endure on that fateful day eleven years ago on September 11, 2001.

Forty is a time to grow.  This is a crucial age.  This is a time for women to make changes.  These changes may be related to relationships, career, inspirational, or soul-searching.  The decade when woman are forty, she must make some serious decisions.  When she was younger, time wasn’t against her.  Now that she is getting older, time is more of a factor.

During a women’s forties, she needs to make some life-long decisions.  Don’t stay in an unhealthy relationship.  Find true love.  Don’t stay in a career that bores you.  Find out what is exciting and go after that job prospect.  This is the time to travel and meet new people and experience new places.  Your children are probably old enough to take care of themselves, so this is the time to re-connect with yourself or to find your self again.

Enjoy being forty.  You are still young and beautiful.  This is the time to shine, so shine.

She needed to break away from the obsession of this man.  He was acting in an irrational behavior, telling Lisa that he loved her more than his life.  He had killed before, in the line of duty, when he was a narcotics officer, and he would do it again if needed, he said.  Cole would only destroy her life along with any offspring contributed by him.  Joe would explain to her in detail about their wedding.  She quickly wondered if he had been reading her journal and that would explain the explicit detail in his dreams and memory.

She had decided to confront him one afternoon while she was having lunch with him at his favorite restaurant near his home in Irvine.  He was quick to deny any of her allegations, reminding her that he believed completely in her independence.  She instantly knew he was lying.  He must have read her journals while he was dog sitting for Mandi last time she flew out to see her sister.  That was why he had been so eager for her to leave; he had wanted to snoop into her private affairs.

This infuriated her beyond control, but she refused to allow him to see her fear for him.  She knew he strived on her fear, this would keep her in line and close to him, but he was wrong.  She was planning her escape.  Her family, including Cole, thought she should be honest with him, telling him about her marriage and move to Nevada, but they were wrong.  Lisa saw something in his eyes that nobody else could see, she saw hatred and desperation growing deeper and deeper inside him day by day.

She feared him more than she could explain.  No, she wasn’t going to tell him about her move, after she was safe and secure in her new home, far away from him.  Maybe, just maybe she would call him to relieve herself of any guilt that she may be feeling towards him and about their relationship.  Fear gripped her heart as she shuttered with the thought of coming face to face with him again someday.  She prayed that day would never come, but her fears kept it alive, especially in her dreams.  For now, she would be safe and maybe he would soon forget her, but she didn’t really believe this to be so.
