PURE LOVE

A dog’s love is unconditional…how many people can we say love us unconditionally and without judgement or something in return…

Excerpt Dear Paxton

ASKMSMANDI 05.01.2016

“Where have you been?”

“I told you I was visiting my sister in Lake Tahoe.”
He continued to glare at her, not saying much.

This infuriated her beyond control, but she refused to allow him to see her fear for him.  She knew he strived on her fear, this would keep her in line and close to him, but he was wrong.

She was planning her escape.

Her family, including Cole, thought she should be honest with him, telling him about her marriage and the move, but they were wrong.

Lisa saw something in his eyes that nobody else could see, she saw hatred and desperation growing deeper and deeper inside him day by day.

She was afraid.

DEAR PAXTON

Ms Mandi Photo 1

It was Saturday when Cole finally showed up at the apartment.

“Where are you going?” Lisa demanded with hurtful eyes.

“I’m moving out, Lisa. I don’t want to be with you anymore.” His eyes blazed with hatred, directed towards her.

Desperately, she reached out, gently touching his arm.

Impulsively, he retracted. “Don’t cause a scene! Lisa, just let me go!” He hissed.

“Where have you been these last couple of days? You could have called me.” He only shrugged his shoulders.

“You’ve been with her, haven’t you? You’re leaving me for that bimbo that gave you her number…the one I found in your wallet the other day? Answer me, damn it!””

“Lisa, I don’t love you anymore!”

“All of a sudden, you’ve stopped loving me?” Lisa was shaking.

“I don’t know anymore, Lisa. Maybe I never really loved you…look at you…you’re pathetic.”

“Me?” Lisa spat.

“Just let me go…don’t stop me!”

“Cole, I’m pregnant…”

Cole grabbed her by the arms, throwing her into the closet doors. “Don’t you dare think that will keep me. I’m out!”

Cole grabbed his keys and his bag, slamming the front door behind him.

Jewels froze.  She couldn’t’ hear much more than the roar of the fire or was it the house?  The house seemed to be angry.  It was almost as if it had a mind of its own and was screaming out to her.

Excerpt from Manuscript – Julian’s Voice: A Ruby in the Rough:
Ms Mandi Photo 1

Sitting at the piano bench in an elegant white dress, with her blonde hair freely cascading down her back, sat Jewels or was it Kate?

He rubbed his eyes, trying to regain his composure. He had surely thought he had seen a ghost.

Subsequently, when he refocused, he was certain it had been Jewels and not a ghost at all.

Early Morning Bliss…
Ms Mandi Photo 1

Gently stirring, but not fully awake or even ready to wake up for the day, Jamie wondered. It was only five in the morning, but yet birds were up and singing. She didn’t only hear one soft melody, but an entire orchestra of magical music. It was simply amazing.

These little wonders in the world is what made life so precious, Jamie thought, yawning.

Happiness enveloped her, but not too soon. Just as quickly, she remembered. Her stomach grumbled. Her head ached. As quickly as the bliss had circuited her, it just as slowly began to disappear like a soft flowing breeze.
