“He’s right you know…I’ve never had a happy ending that lasted.”

“Come on Jan, it can’t be that bad.”

“Mimi, it is. I just feel so lost without Jack.” January said, biting down on her lip.

“I know you are sweetie. Have you visited him lately?”

“Not really. It’s so hard. He’s still really angry with me. I guess I deserve it.”

“Don’t be so hard on yourself. You don’t deserve any of this.”

“I’m not so sure about that. It is my fault Jack isn’t here right now.”

“Jan, it is definitely not your fault. Jack made his own choices. You didn’t force his hand into getting back into meth nor did you make him get onto his motorcycle, when he was totally high.” Mimi said, nursing the rest of her wine.

“Mimi, now you’re not being fair. If I wouldn’t have pushed him so hard and driven him to be so damn perfect, in only my sense of course, none of this would have happened!”

“Jan, you need to let it go. It will only destroy you.”

“I know, but I can’t.”

“I told him I was damaged. We talked about this from the beginning. He promised to be patient, while I healed, but he lied. He lied just like everyone else lies to me. He gave up on me.”

“You miss him, Jan…”

“Miss him…I don’t think miss is the right word. Do I feel a sense of loss…sure, but it’s more like a loss of hope. The hope for happiness. The hope for another chance at love. The hope he was one of the good guys.”

“Was he one of the good guys…”

“I really thought he was, Mimi. Maybe I expect too much from people, maybe I push too hard, and hold on too tightly. But the saddest part is that I did think he was one of the good guys. The one that would be there for me when I was sad…to wipe away my tears…to stay by my side… Maybe that’s all an illusion…I don’t know anymore.”

“I know what you mean, Jan. I don’t have the best track record with guys either. But look at it this way, at least we have our friendship.” Mimi stated, pouring another glass of wine.

“Yes, at least we have that!”

The Redwood Forrest…

DSC_0614

The Redwoods, in Humboldt County, are one of the most mystical and beautiful places I’ve been. A picture does not do it justice.

The first time I walked into the forest, it felt as if I was in a dream. Everywhere I looked, everything was so green and dreamy. I felt as if I was in movie.

You must put this one on your bucket list!

SNOW

Ms Mandi Photo 1

January set the pregnancy stick down on the white Formica counter-top. Tapping her finger, as she bit down on the tip of her it, she was lost in thought. Did she want the test to come out positive or would it be safer to have a negative result…

She knew she loved Jack with all her heart, but was he marriage material…

Unexpectedly she jumped, hearing the creak of the front door.

“Honey, are you home…”

Damn, it was Jack. Closing her eyes and reluctantly opening them again, she peeked down at the pink stick. Her heart dropped.

“I’m in here, Jack.” She called out.

Tree Protestors “Tree Huggers”

IMG_4716

“Tree Huggers” are carrying on a great cause…the need to save our trees from being ruthlessly chopped down, especially the protection of our ancient Redwood Forest in Northern California.

These unique individuals, called protestors, climb up these large trees and set up camp. They remain living in these trees from several months to years, supporting their cause…

SNOW

Ms Mandi Photo 1

“Jack, why are you mad!”

“I’m not.”

The night was late, but January could slightly see the beginning of the sunrise peeking its way up and over the shoreline.

She loved this time of night, the beginning hours of a new day, but there was bad blood between she and Jack. She knew he was mad, but she didn’t care because she too was frustrated with him and his lack of character.

All she could think to do was to lay her head down on his shoulder, closing her eyes as they sped down the highway, at speeds over a hundred miles.

Sometimes, life felt as if it too were passing her by.

No words can explain the feeling of climbing up Strawberry Rock in Humboldt County…

DSC_0501 (2)

I thought we were going on a casual hike…but what I experienced was a face of rocks with a rope to pull myself up. At first, I was scared, but once I got to the top of the rock, Strawberry Rock, what I saw was so majestic and beautiful…I don’t even think I captured it in the camera lens.

Mystical Beaches

College Cove Beach is a great place to visit if you are into sightseeing. The tide pools are wonderful…Starfish and Sea Anemone galore.

Just take the 101 highway, 2 hours North of the Oregon border.

Enjoy your day!

Daily Tip – The Importance to Exfoliating

Exfoliating…

Ms Mandi Photo 1</

Daily Tip:

It is so important to exfoliate at least once a week.

You may chose from a variety of exfoliating creams, from your local drugstore to your fancy department store brands. Find one that works best for your skin type, but it is imperative to your complexion and youth to do this once a week.

Start with doing the following:

1. Wash and cleanse your face with your favorite cleanser

2. Use your favorite toner

3. Pat dry your skin

4. Apply your favorite eye cream gently around the eye and lip area

5. Apply your favorite exfoliating cream

6. Once it has dried the allowed amount of time, apply a warm wash cloth compress to face

7. Rinse product off with warm water and wash cloth

8. Gently pat dry

9. Apply your favorite facial cream

Have fun pampering yourself because you deserve it!
